Top Ten (three) Physical Science Books

  1. Coming of Age in the Milky Way - Timothy Ferris.
  2. A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking. The first 4 chapters are absolutely brilliant and, if one finds the going a bit murky in Chapter Five it's all right to stop, though it becomes more easily understandable in the brilliant concluding chapters.
  3. Beyond Science - John Polkinghorne. Polkinghorne had a sterling career as a nuclear physicist at Cambridge before entering seminary and being ordained as an Anglican priest. His ability to write on the subject of science and faith is, in my opinion, unparalleled.
