Postscript

I believe,

that the hardest job of all is growing up to be a good person.

that the themes of life that the ontogeny tends to recapitulate the phylogeny, meaning that our personal "development" parallels the "evolution" of our civilization.

that we repeat in our own lives with variations on their themes, the so called "classics."

that all well attempted lives are heroic.

that the religious quality of life is implicit providing the context instead of a separate vocabulary to describe one's life.

that truth is not relative.

that Christian truths are best found in the Bible, but only understood in a community of believers.

that the meaning of life can be discovered in understanding life's parables.

that because of the arduousness of growing up life's clarity is best found there.

that God's love is accessible to each and everyone, or He wouldn't be God.

that a way of recognizing Jesus is in the creative role of "The Word."

Postscript Postnote

Although this book is autobiographical it is not intended in the least to be an autobiography. Rather, I think of these childhood memories as a data base in which to explore meaning. A synthesis of art and science, a search for both meaning and truth.
