Option O. Sports Films

1. Read the book by Eitzen and Sage, "Sociology of American Sport."

2. Especially note the description of "Values" in the Chapter, "Sport and American Values."

3. Watch eleven films from those listed below. After each film notify me via e-mail of where and when you watched the film. Also include a paragraph in which you compare the text's description of what is valued in American Sports with what you find valued in the respective movie. (In other words, does the film tend to agree with Eitzen and Sage, or offer a very different perspective?) It is necessary to use the exact terminology, even quotations, from Eitzen and Sage. Sumbit only one review at a time and wait until you have received feedback from me before you submit a subsequent review.

4. By the end of the term write an in depth five page analysis/review of the values perspective of one of the Sports movies that you have watched.
