Option L. Science.
1. Read the book on reserve, Science and the Cinema. 2. Read the article on reserve by Elliot Eisner about how scientists and artists have different concerns. 3. Watch eleven movie, ten of which should be films reviewed in the text, one of which can be of your own choice for your final film review. 4. After you have seen each film notify me where and when you saw the film and add a paragraph in which you identify the main concern about the difference between what scientists know to be true and what is depicted in the film. It is usually very helpful to include at least two quotations from the text. Submit only one review at a time and wait until you have had feedback from me before writing a subsequent review. 5. By the end of the term write a five page film review in which you analyze the "science" depicted in one of the films you watched. Also offer your own commentary on how important this issue was to the overall success of the film. (That is whether you thought the use of literary license was worth it for dramatic reasons to change the depiction of reality.) If your review is less than five pages, please respond to the -Expressive Outcomes- assignment from the last paragraph of the description of Option A.
